Mr. Roosevelt to-day secured eight votes, and Mr. Taft eighteen. Altogether Mr. Taft has secured 159 contested delegates and Air. Roosevelt thirteen. Sentiment is growing in favour of Senator Cummins as a compromise candidate. DEAIOCRATS USING STRATEGY. NEW YORK, June 14. The Democrats are awaiting the result of the Republican Convention before nominating their candidate.
