Heard from Brunnerton, and that Totara j! Flat wag also vacant. Mr J. D. McFar- ! l ane had been transferred from Kumara ; t° Takaka, and the Rev. H. Braddock had i been appointed to succeed him in Kumara. The Moderator stated that the Rev. AV. Davie had accepted the call to St. Andrew’s Church, Hokitika. It was resolved that the Presbytery | meet at Hokitika for the induction of ths . Rev. AY. Davie on Wednesday, May 3rd, at 7 p.m., the Moderator to preach, induct and address the minister, and the ; Rev. D. Mr W. j Murray addressed the Presbytery at length regarding the requirements of Runanga. ; It was resolved that the Clerk be instructed to apply to the Church Extension Committee for the maximum grant for Runanga, also that a commission of-the Presbytery be appointed to conduct the , opening services when the new church is i completed. Mr W. J. Cookson applied to he received as a student for the ministry; It was resolved that the Clerk be instructed to communicate with the Tlieo•vpcal Committee of Knox. College, recommending Mr Cookson, and that in the he (Mr Cookson) be authorised to administer the Sacrament of Baptism nn-T to solemnise marriages under the Marriage Act, Satisfactory reports were leceived from all the church extension stations. It was reported that suitable arrangehad been made in connection with the Bible Class camp, and that the movement was evoking considerable enthusiasm amongst the young people. The meeting was then closed with the benediction.
