DUNEDIN, April, 18-.—At the annual Convention of the National Spiritualists’ Association, a resolution was adopted appreciative of the work of the Minister of Justice in leading the Prison Reform movement, and.expressing the hope that capital punishment would be abolished. Hill, Junior, acting Coroner, on a little boy named Edward Trumper, aged 11, who was drowned in the 'Waimata river, while bathing with two smaller brothers. Great difficulty was experienced in recovering the body owing to the lack of proper appliances the constable being compelled to dive repeatedly.
