The Westport Jockey Club’s second day (autumn’meeting) was held inline weather wih a large attendance. Results :

Miners’ Handicap, 6 furlongs.—lnvestment 1, Wairarapa 2, Contingent 3. Only starters. Time 1.20.

Charleston Hack Handicap, 6 furlongs.—Balmy Breeze 1, Flintstono 2. AH started. Granity Trot, 1-i miles—-Miss Black 1, Boxer 2, Silver Heel 3. Time 4.18.

Buller Handicap, 1 mile.—King Try 1, Investment 2, First View 3. Freeland was the only other starter.

At the conclusion of his race Mr Colvin, M.P. (President of the Club), presented Mr Byrne (owner of King Try) with a handsome silver cup won on Thursday and presented by a wellknown Nelson resident, Mr F, N. Jones, who said Mr Colvin, had been an officer of the Club for nearly thirty years and had always taken the keenest interest in the sport. He regretted the il-health that had laid Mr Jones aside and imped lie would have a speedy and complete recovery. Stockton Handicap, 1 milc.—Coreise Miss Douglas 2, Flinstone 3. Time 1.56.
