Faom private telegrams received in town we understand that the successful tenderer for the Hokitika River Bridge is the local contractor Mr T Dillon. The price has not yet been disclosed but it will probably be found to be somewhere inthe vicinity of £26,000.

1 be annual meeting of the Greymouth Trotting Club waa held last evening when there wai a' good attendance of members. The balance sheet presented showed the affairs of the club to be in a most flourishing condition and the officers of the club are to be congratulated on the strides they are making.
