Duncan, to lease 100 acres of pastoral land at New River, under section 219 of Land Act, 1892,-rGranted for term of 3 years at rental of £1 per annum. No. 1685, B. Gallagher, by his agent, W. Duncan, to lease 640 acres of pastoral land at New River under section 219 of the Land Act, 1892.--The Ranger's report was read —The Commissioner moved that the application'be refused—Carried. No. 1686j J. C. Malfroy, by his agents, Mark Sprot & Co., to lease gravel reserve near Hau Hau Creek, under section 116 of Land Act, 1892. MISCELLANEOUS.* Letter from Under-Secretary of Lands stating that the law does not give any power to the Government to reduce the rent of H. Karnbach's- run No. 88.— Received. ' From Surveyor-General, noting the Ministers approval of recommendation of Board? to sub-divide temporary grazing run No. 152 and transfer portion of it to Mr Diedrichs. -Received. From J. Park, President of Acclimatization Society, asking the Board to recommend a reservation for fish breeding purposes at Kanieri Lake. — Received — Recommendation to be made. From Under-Secretary of Lands stating that the Minister had approved of the recommendation of the Board with regard to granting of temporary grazing licenses. — Received. The Commissioner placed for approval before the Board plan of section No 902, 50 acres, Block XV, Gillespies Survey District — Approved . The Receiver of Land Revenue reports receipts for the period amounting to £129 4s Bd, viz., ordinary land revenue, £115 4s 8d ; Midland Railway revenue, £14. — Received. Mr Blick, and with him Messrs Guy and Gillyard, representing the deferred payment holders on Teremakau settlement, appeared before the Board to and that in mitigation of over-due rentals, of which notice has been given by the Lands Department to cue for same, that a reduction of areas of swamp be made so a? to afford some measure of relicf — .Mi Duncan also spoke on behalf of the holders. — Considerable and sympathetic discussion took place when it was resolved that the Commissioner visit the locality and bring up a report at an early meetins;.—Mr Duacan, on behalf of the settlers, thanked the Board for the kind consideration received. The Board then adjourned.
