I The Miuister considers the remaining objections which are urged by the lessees to be frivolous, andjhe has directed me to state that if the lessees will not sign the leases with the alteration above noted, they ahould ] be called upon to relinquish the land so that I it may be again submitted to public auction. ■ After a lengthy discussion it was resolved, " That the Board having carefully considered the objections raised by the Dobson Town section lessees, referred to in Mr Guinness' letter of the 9th December alt., and the petition da'ed 15th December ult., and signed by Messrs Poster, M'Kenzie and others, deem the leaseholders entitled to fall va'uation for improvements by incoming tenants at termination of the leases, but not entitled to any of the other concessions asked for.'' It was further resolved that the Chief Commissioner make the necessary alterations in^ the leases, and give the lessees | the opportunity to execute them before j the first day of March. Any sections, the leases of which are not signed by that date, will be submitted again for sale by auction. The Eeceiver of Land Revenue reported receipts to amount of £52 3s 6d for the period.
