DEATH OF DR PEARY.
Gisborne, December 27. Yesterday afternoon Dr. Peary expired suddenly. Deceased was suffering from a severe cough and in the night, it is stated he took by mistake chloroform instead of cough mixture which he was using. An inquest will be held. The deceased geutleman was held ia high esteem throughout the district, and great regret is expressed at his sudden deaih.
