ARRIVAL OF THE PANAMA MAIL.

(By Electric Telegraph.) We take the following from an " Evening . Star" Extraordinary published yesterday :—: — Wellington, Feb. 25, 1868. The s.s. Rakaia was detained through the late arrival of the mail at Panama. Left there at 9.30 a.m. on Jan. 27. On the 10th February sighted Oeno Island ; arrived at Opara on 13th, and coaled ; started on the 14th and arrived at Wellington at 4 p.m. on the 25th. Had fine weather to Opara, from thence had westerly gales and heavy head sea. Passengers for Wellington — Rev. A. Pope, Mr Ritchie, Mr and Mrs Montezan, Tooley, Wanderer, Collett. For Canterbury— H. P Hill, Collins. For Nelson — Rutter. For Otago — Mr and Mrs F;irquharsou, Mr Napier. For Sydney — Mr Palmer and four children. Miss M'Arthur, Mr Swanson. For Melbourne — Mr Risk. GENERAL SUMMARY. The Queen is at Okborne, which for the first time has been guarded by foot guards and cavalry. H. M. S S. Irresistable, Warrior, Sprightly, and Fancy have been anchored of Osborue. Fenian excitement continues. Plot to blow up Paddington Terminus of the Great Western Railway divulged. Spanish Government have offered French moral and material co-opera-tion in defending lawful rights of Pope. Quarterly revenue returns to Dec. 31st show decrease of L 989,955. On whole year decrease is L 122,146. Deduction, casual receipt of income last year. There is an increase this of L 300,000.
