Britain Must Continue “Pay-as-we-go” Policy
LONDON, Dec. 20. —The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr Gaitskell, told the Institute of Exporters that British trade in the first ten months of 1950 achieved something not done for 100 years—it actually earned a true surplus on visible trade. He added Britain must have tha “pay-as-we-go” policy, even in the present rearmament drive.
