WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
RANGATAUA. The December meeting of the Rangataua Women’s Institute was held in the Town Hall recently. Afterwards a Christmas party was held for the children. Mrs Row presided. Competitions results were: Xmas novelty, Mrs McClaren 1, Mrs Cairncross 2, Mrs Mitchell 3. Premier flower, Mrs Mitchell. Items by Jean Nicol and Mary Cribb, of Hihitahi, were enjoyed. Birthday sprays were presented to Mrs McGuire, Mrs Garvan and Nancy Mills. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs Jeffery and a sumptuous tea by the ladies’ committee ended a very pleasant day.
