MERRY “CHRIS—SMASH”

BLENHEIM, Last Night (PA). —lt was Christmas Eve and the spirit of goodwill was in the air. In fact, it took the form of a small open cockpit aeroplane. The pilot was flying low above a road in South Marlborugh and below him he saw two motor cars travelling in opposite directions. He gave them a friendly wave. Drivers and passengers down beloxj; caught the spirit of the gesture and returned it enthusiastically. Too enthusiastically, because the next thing their cars had collided. Fortunately they were travelling slowly and it seems that all turned out at least reasonably well because the last the pilot saw after circling once or twice, was two somewhat dented vehicles backing off and proceeding on their journeys.
