PATIENTS IN THE WANGANUI HOSPITAL CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS
So far as it is possible to brighten life in hospital, this was done at the Wanganui General Hospital during the Christmas period. All were given a full opportunity to capture the Christmas spirit. Decorations were on a liberal scale. Parties of nurses, accompanied by the Matron (Miss Buckingham) made rounds of the wards on Saturday night and, together with the several sisters holding lighted candles, sang Christmas carols.
Yesterady morning the Children’s i Ward, which was specially decorated with a Christmas tree, was visited by I Father Christmas and each little I patient received a gift. I The Orphanage, Watt Home, i Jubilee the Home of Compassion were I remembered by several kind friends ! and Christmas fare was provided. At ! the Home of Compassion some piperp from the Wanganui Highland Pipe I Banc played selections to the patients. ; Chris mas declarations were a feature I at all hospitals.
