MRLEE MARTIN
I\/IR LEE MARTIN, Labour’s first Minister for Agriculture, was a stalwart of the Labour Party in its early days. He pioneered the Labour Movement in Wanganui and when his parly gained office he was the member for a Waikato seat and went almost automatically into the Cabinet. Mr. Lee Martin was truly man who could see the other man’s point of view. On be con i g < farmer his sense of responsibility caused him to link np wnn the Farmers’ Union and despite his political cast of mindl he was soon elected a branch president. His term o Ministerial ffice wa cut short by advancing years and declining heal h b We o-oml sense to know his own limitations and to leiiam irom ova and in this he was able to.do some himseß mid the the times his relations with the Honourable Lee was particularly happy in its „ Martin, the association being of mutual benefit.
