NORTH KOREAN RADIO ASKS SOUTH KOREANS TO THROW DOWN ARMS
TOKIO, Dec. 22 (Recd. 1 pm).—The North Korean Pyongyang radio returned to the air last night with an appeal to South Korean troops: "Throw down your arms and join us as brothers.”
The appeal added: “We belong to the same race; we don’t want to fight you. Join us and we forgive you. Don’t be fooled by the Americans.” The appeal was addressed to South Korean Government officials as well as troops.
The Communists reoccupied Pyongyang two weeks ago.—Reuter.
