Loder Cup Is Won By 85-Year-Old Man
WELLINGTON, Yesterday (PA).— The Loder Cup for 1950 has been awarded to Mr. A. P. Harper, of Wellington. This cup was presented by the late Mr. Gerald W. Loder (afterwards Lord Wakehurst) to lovers of nature in New Zealand, to encourage the protection and cultivation of the incomparable flora of the Dominion. Mr. Harper, now 85 years of age, and still active, has become almost a legendary figure in New Zealand because of his pioneer exploration in the Southern Alps and particularly South Westland.
