YOUNG MAN INJURED IN FALL WHILE GATHERING MISTLETOE
NELSON, Last Night (PA).—A young man was seriously injured yesterday when he fell 30 feet from a tree while collecting mistletoe in the Whangamoa district. He was Kenne.h Best, aged 20, of Vanguard Street. On admission to the Nelson Hospital, he was found to be suffering from multiple injuries to the back. His condition this afternoon was reported t 0 be serious.
Cyclist Killed
CHRISTCHURCH, Yesterday (PA). —A cyclist was killed almost instantly when he was involved in a collision with a taxi in the city early this morning. He was Dennis James Francis Callaghan, single, aged 37, residing at 304 Armagh Street, Christchurch.
The accident occurred at 12.30 a.m. today at the intersection of Tuam and Barbadoes Streets. The driver of the taxi was Gordon Paterson, of 6 Godley Avenue, Papanui.
