Australia To Donate £25 Millions Towards Development Of Asia
SYDNEY, Today.—The Minister of I External Affairs (Mr. Spender) an-! nounced that the Commonwealth | Government has decided to make' available £25,000,000 towards the ! plan for co-operative economic development in South and South-east Asia. The sum would spread over a period from June, 1951, to July 1957. During the first year of the plan, 1951-52, Australia would contribute £7,000,000. This was in addition to the sum the Government had already contributed to the Commonwealtn technical assistance programme for South and South-east Asia.
