WEST AUSTRALIA WINS ITS FIRST SHIELD MATCH
PERTH, Dec. 21 (Rec. 6 pm).— West Australia won its first Sheffield Shield match this season by defeating Queensland by 19 runs. Queensland needed 229 runs to win outright but was dismissed just before stumps. Scores:
West Australia: First innings, 257; second innings, 260 (Edwards 105, McCool six for 98).
Queensland: First innings, 289; second innings 209 (Carrigan 54; Price five for 49, Mac Gill four for 56).
