Taranaki Men To Hold Meetings Today

NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night (P.A.). —New Plymouth and Hawera railwaymen will meet tomorrow morning to consider any developments in the railways dispute. A special general meeting of railwaymen held yesterday, but no statement was issued. The general opinion among New Plymouth railwaymen seemed to support the national executive and to be in favour of withholding direct action until a directive to hold a Dominion-wide strike ballot was received, said the secretary of the New Plymouth branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants (Ti T r. A. G. Goldsmith tonight. The New Plymouth meeting at ten o’clock tomorrow will be between the executives of the branches of the A.S.R.S. and the E.F.C.A.. At the same time a meeting of the executive of the Hawera branch of the A.S.R.S., will take place.
