Change In Command Of Cruiser Bellona
Captain G. V. M. Dolphin, D. 5.0., R.N., will be the next to command the New Zealand cruiser Bellona. His appointment to command the cruiser and as senior officer New Zealand Squadron has been announced by the Admiralty. He will succeed Captain J. R. Ruck Keene, 0.8. E., D.S.C., R.N., toward the middle of next year. An officer in the Royal Navy for more than 25 years, Captain Dolphin reached his present rank in June, 1945. In December, 1948, he was appointed deputysuperintendent and captain of the dockyard and as King’s Harbourmaster at Portsmouth. Captain Ruck Keene took command of the Bellona more than a year ago after two years’ service as Naval Attache at the Warsaw Embassy.
