Treating-House Still Handling Surplus Milk
Although the dry weather was beginning to affect the supply, the treating-house was still handling a large surplus of milk, the manager, Mr S. V. Howells, reported to yesterday’s Meeting of the Wanganui Milk Treatment Corporation’s directorate. The quality of milk for November was good, he said. In November, 140,718 gallons of milk had been collected for the supply association, Mr Howells’ report showed. Of this, 93,036 gallons went to the treating-house, 47,682 gallons were delivered to the Westmere Dairy Company, and 1629 gallons were separated for the Okoia factory. The total collected was only 4785 gallons less than the amount for October. The total treated was 1288 gallons less. Vendors took 67,523 gallons of milk las month, as against 69,351 in October.
