Headmaster Of Huntley School Surveys Work Of Past Year

The year would be remembered at one of considerable success in certain respects, but with remarkable lack of It in others, said Mr R. P. Sherriff, headmaster of Huntley School, Mardon. when surveying the school year at the annual break-up and prize-giv-ing ceremony. School games had been played with some success, the cricket eleven winning five of its nime matches, and drawing two, while the school's Rugby team won three, lost one and drew two matches, said Mr Sherriff. Boxing reached a high standard, and the boys were fortunate in receiving Initial trainin', from such a good Instructor as Mr C. Gibbins. One of the brightest and most hopeful aspects of school life at present was the academic side, said Mr Sherriff. In the middle part of the school there was a great keenness and an evident desire to learn. In the music classes some pleasing work hpd been done by those learning tM piano or violin, and by the three orchestral groups. Form prizes were won as follows:—< Form I: R. S. Tuckey.
