Rush To Buy Festival Of Britain Concert Tickets
LONDON, Dec. 20 (Recd. 6 pm). —Two days after it was announced that subscription tickets for next year’s Festival of Britain symphony concerts were on sale and the first 1500 purchasers would get priority in buying tickets for one or three concerts conducted by Toscaanni, the general manager of the Royal Festival Hall received £15,000 worth of “orders.” Some people sent in blank cheques. The concert hall ha-s not yet been completed. This response, it is stated, ensures the success of the concert season.—Special N.Z.P.A. Corres-. pondent.
