N.Z. AIRMEN TO BE TRAINED ON VAMPIRE FIGHTERS
WELLINGTON, Yesterday (PA).— The R.N.Z.A.F. is sending a party of flying and technical men to the United Kingdom for a period of special training on the Vampire jet fighter, one of lhe new aircraft types with which the service will re-equip in the new year Their training will be followed by periods of shoit attachments to th? R.A.F., and on their return to Now Zealand they will instruct at R.N.Z.aF technical schools and in squadrons and maintenance units. It. is expected inat further drafts will follox the t’-rst party leaving next month, members of which are: Flight Lieut L. A. Rayner, D.F.C., pilot. Wanganui, Pilot Officer J. D. Waugh, pilot, Wellington, Squadron Leader J. R. Torry, engineer, Wellington; Corporal E. J. Hart, engine fitter, Wanganui; Sergeant J. B. Rodger, engine fitter, Marton; Sergeant R. T. F. Lewis, instrument fitter, Ohakea; Flight Sergeant J. A. Molynoux, ‘■ll . Auck’and; Flight Sergeant E. J. West, engine fitter, Hoat. ovule; Sergeant H. Daltofi. engine fitter, Blenheim; Warrant Officer C. B. Demuth, instrument fitter, Masterton; Flight Sergeant H. G. Horton, airframe fitter, Ohakea; Flight Sergeant D. F. Sinclair, electrician. Auckland; Cornoral R. C. Allan, airframe fitter, Feilding.
