Demand That Margarine Be Put On Free Sale

LONDON, Dec. 19 (Recd. 10pm).--A demand that branded margarine should be put on free sale again is made by the “Daily Express,” in a leading article. "Once upon a time margarine came to the public in packets which bore (he manufacturer's name," it says. "And it was good margarine. Better by far than the anonymous yelli I stuff which the-housewife endures today. Any reason why there should not be a return to branded margarine? No reasoq at all “Nor is there any reason why margarine—branded or otherwise —should still be rationed. Every housewile knows ‘there is now more margarine about than the shopkeepers know what to do with. Statistics show that out of every 100 women 12 don't even bother to collect their ration. Why, then, perpetuate a farce which costs money and serves no purpose?” — Special N.Z.PA. Correspondent.
