BIG MANHUNT FOR MANIAC KILLER
NEW YORK. Dec 17 (Recd 6 pm).— The greatest manhunt in Philadelphia’s history began today as the police sought a sniper who earlier in the day killed a 28-year-old housewife as she was working in a kitchen. The woman was the seventh person shot in similar circumstances in the past six weeks. The other victims were wounded. Police headquarters ordered every available po'iceman to the north-west-ern residential section where the shootings have occurred. ‘There’s no doubt that there is a maniac on the loose," a police officer said.
