Because Christmas Day and Boxing Day fall on a Monday and Tuesday this year, city shops will be closed lor four days. As there was a similar long holiday last year, housewives will have a better knowledge of how to cater tor this long period. The approach of Christmas is becoming more evident now and greater I»-rowels of shoppers are crowding the Avenue each day. As in ether years, however, the majority of people will postpone their shopping until the last day or so.
