The Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mr Davies, rejected a Conservative proposal that the United Nations be asked Io pool all newsprint of the free nations. • The Commonwealth Relations Sec- ‘ retary, Mr Gordon Walker, said he i. understood the New Zealand Govern- ■ ment was considering a project lor l 'large-scale development of newsprint I supplies from forests in the North Island, but Britain and New Zealand t had not been in consultation with a jview to co-operation.
