MR. COLUNS, CHAIRMAN OF WANGANUI COUNTY, RETAINS HIS SEAT
The chairman of the Wanganui County Council has retained his seat. This was disclosed yesterday when the returning officer (Mr. S. L. Orr) announced the result of an official recount, which included postal votes, of the polling in the Mangamahu Riding. The three councillors elected are: Messrs. Collins and E. T. Hine (re-elected), and Mr. John Polson. A sitting councillor (Mr. T. Mitchell) has been defeated. The final figures are: *A. H. Collins ...„ ..... 116 *E. T. Hine 124 A. G. Kennedy no *T. Mitchell ..... 61 W. J. Polson 136
