Highest Prices Ever Known For Bradford Tops
LONDON, Nov. 20 (Recd. 6pm).— The world wool position as seen in Bradford is revealing extraordinary strength, states the International Wool Secretariat’s special news service. With the opening of the New Zealand sales, all Dominion markets are now operating at full scale, and big weights of wool are passing under the hammer in all centres. This week the London wool sales begin, and aggregated selling roster figures for here and the Dominions suggest that the week beginning November 27 will be possibly one of the heaviest selling weeks in the whole wool year. Business is moving in the Bradford top market at the highest prices ever known for all qualities, but commercial transactions are characterised by caution in view of the price level, and are confined to covering actual orders. Never before in history have wool purchases and order books for manufactured goods been more finely balanced, but measurable business continues in all sections here.
