OFFICIAL COUNTS
Preliminary details for the official counts of votes cast in the local body elections on Saturday began yesterday. The actual official counts in some cases will begin today and in some counties the final results may be known within a few days. In the Wanganui city elections, however, between 400 and 500 postal votes have yet to be counted, and where the margins are narrow placings can easily be upset. This applies also to some county The number of postal votes is not so great, but placings are so close that till the final declarations are made by returning officers the position regarding some seats will be in doubt. Some days will probably elapse before the final result of the Wanganui City Council issue is known.
