Australian Communist Party Secretary To Leave Gaol This Week
SYDNEY, Nov. 12 (Recd. 7pm).— Laurence Louis Sharkey, general secretary of the Australian Communist Party, is due for release from Long Bay Gaol this week, though the exact date is being kept secret. On appeal, his original sentence ot three years for sedition was reduced to 18 months, and he secured four and a-half months’ remission for good conduct.
Gaolers say Sharkey has been a model prisoner and has not attempted to expound Communist views to other prisoners
