Y.W.C.A. World Fellowship Week

Clubs of the Y.W.C.A. throughout the world will observe the annual week of prayer and world fellowship from this Sunday until next Sunday, November 19. The theme is to be ‘‘God The Father," based on the Lord’s Prayer, and club observances will follow this line in programmes planned for the week. In Wanganui the local association will join with the Y.M.C.A. and other youth groups in a sunrise service beginning at 7 a.m. in the picturesque surroundings of Virginia Lake. This will be taken by the Rev. I, C. E. Ram. age, with readings by club representatives from the booklet specially prepared for the occasion by the World’s Y.W.C.A. in Geneva. An innovation this year will be the breakfast gathering following the service, to be eaten outsicfe with tea supplied from the lake kiosk. If the day is wet, the service will be held at tne same time in the Y.W.C.A. lounge. Next Wednesday an international evening on the same lines as last year's successful gathering will be held in the Y.W.C.A. lounge. To this are invited women or girls of different nationalities at present in Wanganui and those who have visited countries overseas, so that the atmosphere will be be as international as possible. The various clubs are combining to present a programme of items to suit the occasion and another feature will be the supper of foodstuffs, typical of other lands. To conclude the observance, a church parade has been arranged at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church on Sunday evening, November 19, followed by a social hour in the Y.W.C.A. lounge.
