SOVIET THINKS THAT CHINESE “VOLUNTEERS” ARE IN KOREAN WAR
WASHINGTON, Nov. 7 (Ree. 6 pm).—The Sbviet Foreign Minister, Mr. Andrei Vyshinsky, said tonight that he did not believe the Chinese Communist Government had intervened in the Korean war, but he admitted that some “volunteers” from China might have joined the fighting. Mr. Vyshinsky said the Soviet Union wanted the Korean conflict settled “in the interests of the Korean people and general peace.” Mr. Vyshinsky said he hoped for closer relations between the United States and the Soviet Union, and was convinced they could be attained for “the good of the cause of peace and mankind.”
