New Plymouth Offer For Three Of Wanganui’s Disused Tram Cars

The New Plymouth City Council has made a firm offer of £lOO each for three of Wanganui’s disused double-bogie tramcars. Advice to this effect was contained in a letter which was before the Wananui C't.y Council at its monthly meeting last night. The offer was referred to a small sub-committee, which was given power to act. New Plymouth also made an offer of £l5O for tramway spares, both trams and snares to be taken delivery of at the tramway barn in Wanganui. Some councillors were in favour of the council disposing of the trams immediately. but the Mayor, Hon. W. J. Rogers, M.L.C., and the chairman of the Transport Committee, Cr. R. E. Jack, were of the opinion that this was a ciu?s' v n for a sub-committee to consider.
