60 MILLION CHILDREN IN EUROPE ARE IN NEED OF HELP
LONDON, Nov. 6 (Recd. 6pm).— In Europe 66,000.000 children are in need of help, mainly as the result of the war. This statement is made in a report Issued by U.N.E.S.C.O. after 2i years’ study in Europe. Experts frem the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation recommended the utmost national and international effort to make up the physical and spirtual deficiencies of war-handicap-ped ahildren. The International Refugee Organisation told U.N.E.S.C.O. that it estimated 375,000 children are still entitled to its service five years after the war, but only 153,817 are actually receiving attention. The 1.R.0. also estimated that 13,000,000 or 14,000,000 displaced Germans not officially entitled to 1.R.0. care included about 3,500,000 children.
