Flying Competitions Landing and bombing competitions were held yesterday by pilots of the Wanganui Aero Club. The results were as follows—Senior landing: J. Charles 1, A. Palmer 2, C. Williams 3. Junior landing: K. Morgan 1, M. Alexander 3. Senior bombing: P. Stevens and A. Palmer equal 1, J. Colway and F. Bosselman equal 3. Junior bombing: L. Richardson 1, T. McKoy 2, M. Alexander 3.

College Cricket The first cricket match between King's College (Auckland) and the first eleven of the Wanganui Collegiate School will be played on the school ground today and tomorrow. Play today will begin nt 1.40 p.m. and tomorrow at 10.40 a.m. Inter-school Rugby matches between King’s and Wanganui have been played for several years. Happy Birthday In acknowledgment of Mr H. H. West’s 80th birthday which occurs today the Wanganui Garrison Band yesterday played a programme of music outside the Belverdale Hospital where Mr West is an inmate. Mr West has been associated with the Garrison Band for many years and is a former president. Included in the programme was “Happy Birthday to You." Price Of Bread Bakers are not allowed to increase the price of bread without the authority of the Price Tribunal. Breaches of the bread price order will be regarded seriously and prompt action will be taken by the Director of Price Control. This statement is made by the president of the tribunal (Mr. P. B. Marshall) in reference to an announcement that Invercargill bakers are increasing their prices from 73d to 8d a 21b. loaf, and from Is 3d to Is 4d a 41b. loaf. Land Valuation Land valuation committees ordered reductions totalling £13,626,374 in property sale prices from the passing of the Land Sales Act in 1943 to March 31, last.
