Whangaehu Valley Bridges. Amended proposals for the construction of a suspension bridge at Mangamahu had been submitted to the Ministry of Works, the county engineer, Mr R. R. Dawson, reported to yesterday’s meeting of the Wanganui County Council. The present bridge was almost beyond repair, he said, recommending that, on the receipt of the Ministry’s authority, tenders be called for the construction of the new bridge. He estimated that replace- | ment of the bridge would cost £4600. Also in a dangerous condition, Harris | Bridge would also hr*' e t<> be replaced I soon, the council was told.
