FULL CATALOGUE IS EXPECTED FOR FIRST WANGANUI WOOL SALE

Though no definite figures are yet avails.: from wool brokers, it is confide ly expected that buyers will face a full catalogue when the Wanganui sale commences on November 17. A target of 30,000 bales has been set by local auctioneers. There will be a full bench ot buyers, and it is thought that the competition will be very keen. The weather has been particularly favourable for shearing this season, and farmers, with thoughts of the current. high prices in mind, are well on their way toward completing their early clips. Already almost 15,000 bales are in the stores, a considerable increase above the number there at the corresponding period last year. The wool has come forward in good condition. The sale season for growers’ greasy wool commences on November 13 al Auckland, and will bo followed by the Wam anui sale on November 17. and two at Napier on November 21 and 23. Altogether 35 auctions will he held in the Dominion during the 1950-51 season. The other sales in Wanganui are scheduled for January 23, March 9 and Mav 2.

The whart is to be extended by 203 feet and is (he company’s first move to overcome its shipping problems.
