75th. Annual Meeting Of Wanganui Rowing Club Well Attended

In the presence of a large attendance, the 75th. annual meeting of the Wanganui Rowing Club was held on Tuesday night. Mr. V. Clapham presided. It was reported at the meeting that because of the early date of the New Zealand Championship Regatta at Christchurch, that an immediate start is being made with trophy racing and the coaching of novices of whom a good muster are offering this season. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr Percy Evans; president, Mr Vic. Clapham; vice-presidents, Messrs. ,F. W. Gilligan, H. R. Jones, L. Clapham, S. F. Cass, M. A. Kitchen, J. R. McDonald, W. R. McElwain, Reg. Carr, Dr. M. R. Grace; club captain, Mr A. R. Byres; deputy, Mr B. Ingram; secretary, Mr M. S. Byres; treasurer, Mr M. Paul; auditor, Mr L. Holland; starters, Messrs L. Northover and G. L. Jones; judges, Messrs. J. Brock, M. R. Grace and B. Stroud; selection committee’s members’ member, Mr. M. R. Gracej committee, Messrs. I. Robson, N. A. Kitchen, D. Nancarrow, D. Clapcott, E. Wenham, B. Lockett; delegates to the W.A.R. Association, Messrs. D. Nancarrow and H. Clark.
