FELICITOUS IN GOOD GALLOP AT AWAPUNI
PALMERSTON N., Last Night (Sp) —Awapuni stables will be represented
at Wanganui and Carterton on Saturday, and they got through a good deal of useful work under good conditions for the finals this morning. The trestles were wide out on the course proper.
The Guineas candidate Felicitous, partnered with Hunting Fort, ran a satisfactory six furlongs. Others to work well included Kippo, winner of the Marangai Handicap last Saturday, Britovite and Dandy Ninth, Mission and Diplomacy, Voltaic and Biassed, and Offender and Nakura.
Kippo (G. R. Tattersail) worked with Hypholin (Gibson) and Luxury Liner (A. Temperton) over, a mile. With Kippo trailing the others early the pace was solid and they came home well to complete the mile in 1.57, the last five in 1.14.
Felicitous (R. Dulieu) and Hunting Fort (D. Harris) went away from the six barrier and from a standing start ran the first three in just over 40. They were home strongly 'to complete in 1.23 4-5.
Britovite (D. Harr's), looking better for the race he had last Saturday, sprinted six furlongs with Dandy
