THE Transport Charges Committee having considered the application of the Commissioner of Transport affecting all tram, omnibus, trolley bus and cable car operated by the Auckland Transport Board, New Plymouth, Wanganui, Wellington, Dunedin and Invercargill City Corporations and Christchurch Tramway Board routes as serviced by them, which reads:— “That the existing fares be made minimum charges and that existing fares plus such amount as the Committee deems necessary to offset increases in wages and salaries as a result of the recent order issued by

the Arbitration Court become maximum legal charges,” has decided to grant a permissive increase in fares or charges by fixing specific maximum and minimum charges, or giving permissive authority to alter conditions applying to certain tickets for each Authority, with the exception of Wanganui and Invercargill City Corporations for which no permissive increases have been granted. . For purposes of appeal this decision is dated 7th September, 1950, and therefore any appeal must be forwarded to the Commissioner of Transport, P.O. Box 107, Te Aro.
