KEEN INTEREST INTINY TOTS’ COMPETITION

Keen ir.teiest is being taken in the display of photographs entered in the Tiny Tots Photo competition organised hy the Wanganui Free Kindergarten. Since the opening on Friday in the D.I.C. Annexe, keen interest has been shown by the public. Despite the steady downpour of rain on Monday, many pec pie viewed the display and the voting received excellent support. The p ctures of the children are very good. In ages from 6 months to 6 years their faces show expressions of all kinds. There are the smiling faces, those with shy or demure looks, come laughing merrily, sad little faces as though teady for a cry, and the photo-grapher-conscious faces which show a look as much as to say; “Well, here I am, it I really have to face the camera.” Some have gleeful and roguish smiles and others show “a love-of-fun” look. There are sturdy little boys who look as though they will be in a Rugby fifteen one day. “Oh dear, must I really undergo this ordeal” look is on one small face. She may possibly be a good actress some day. One tiny girl owes her very boyish look to a mistake made by a hairdresser with whom she was left before having her photo taken. Receiving no instructions the hairdresser gave the child a boyish cut, much to the consternation of the mother. Members of the various kindergartens and branch Mothers Clubs arcin charge of the voting table Durie Hill had the first three days, and Bell Street takes over today, Aramoho on the 11th and Wanganui East on Thursday, September 14. The competition closes on Monday, September 25.
