Brer Acre Engaged In Avondale Hurdles
AUCKLAND, Last Night (SpecjaJ). —Brer Acre went a good race among the hurdlers at Paeroa over a month ago when well up with the field. He did a bit better at Foxton. hanging on to get third, and he may be a likely improver. He is in the hack hurdles at Avondale. Passiopata, who w°n two maiden races at Hastings earlier in the winter and then failed to do better than run a moderae third to good hacks In Manon and Peer Gy nt at Avondale in a sot-weight affair, is to have his first outing at three years in the opening race at Avondale' tomorrow . Much interest will bo taken in his performance. In this same event is Penfriend, who is expected to be quite a useful galloper before very long. Hp ran greenly at the Pakuranga mget’n-g recently and should have derived cons’.dersnte from that, his first race. A feature of the two shorter hack events qt Avondale is the number of promising three-year-olds balloted out. There is no right of re-entry here.
