Rangitikei Rugby Reps. To Play At Bulls This Afternoon
The Rangitikei senior Rugby representatives will play their sixth match of the season today when a visit will be received from the Manawatu senior second division rep. team. The game will be placed at Bulls commencing al 2.30 p.m. So far this season Rangitikei h/.ve been undefeated, with four wins and a draw. As Rangitikei today will be without six of its leading players, who are touring with tIZ? Wanganui team, Manawatu are expected to give the home team a hard match. The visiting team contains several wellknown pldyers who have made their mark in Manawatu football, including I. Pike and 1. Gay, both of whom played for the A team against Poverty Bay last month. The inclusion of I. Barton on *he wing to replace Kilpatrick should strengthen the Rangitikei defence which was weak on the flanks against, the Manawatu Colts a fortnight ago. Kilpatrick’s relegation to the reserve list, however, has left the team without a goal-kicker. It is expected that the Rata captain. W. Kingi. will now be called upon to fill the role. The referee for the game is Mr. W. Kereama, of Marton. The teams are:— Rangitikei.—J. Hutton; D. Westwood. J. McNab, T. Barton; D. King!, W. Kingi. M. Owens: P. Gibbs; D. Stewart. R. Fit tier. P.
