Block Of Teak From Iron Duke Given To Yacht Squadron
AUCKLAND, Last Night (P.A.)— A block of teak from HMS Iron Duke, Earl Jellicoe’s flagship in lhe First World War, was presented to lhe Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron at the 79th annual meeting. From it will be carved a mount for a trophy given to the squadron by Mr. B. Dindeler, of Bradford, for the annual round the island race.
The teak is 15in. square by 6in deep and is the gift of Compander McKenzie, of Scotland. It was brought back to Auckland by Dr. F Macky, a former commodore of the sqaadron.
