SANDY'S CORNER
TO CORRESPONDENT. Inquirer.—The Regent Theatre was opened in March, 1929, and was built as a picture theatre. Opera boxes were never intended and were never installed. What appear to be boxes are concealed lighting recesses and have not been used for any other purposes. Some alterations have been made since the theatre was built, including elimination of the orcheslr.nl well. This information is from the man who built the theatre.-—“S.” WORDS NOT TO BE USED. The fact that Parliament has set about amending its list of un-Parlia-menLary words (and apparently some of them are choice) has inspired us. We have decided to compile lists of similar type. We feel like making a start! with snort —“Expressions Unbecoming a Golfer,’’ “Words Banned in Rugby." “Cruel Cricket Terms.’* We feel sure that everv farmer would welcome to a place cn his bookshelves our conv of “Un-Doggy Expressions When Mustering! ’ In fact there is a groat opportunity for us to list a whole 'ot of expressions, and we feel that Mum should have a cony of “What Not. Io Say When Help is needed at the Sink!”
