American Air Force Successes In Korea
WASHINGTON, Aug 19 (Recd 6 pm).—The air force said today that it had destroyed or damaged 119 North Korean aircraft since the Korean war started. It claimed that 70 were destroyed, 17 probably destroyed and 32 damaged. . The air force gave its own losses: “Known to enemy” as 55. This list thus would not Include American aircraft lost over friendly territory. The air force said its own losses were due to enemy combat action, anti-aircraft, or small arms fire. United States cargo planes have flown 10,000,0001 b of war materials and more than 6000 passengers from Japan to Korea since the invasion.
