Record Mild Winter On Ruapehu
The mildness of the winter at Ruapehu is without precedent in living memory. At this time of the year guests at the Chateau Tongariro usually can ski in the vicinity of 3700 feet up btt at present they have to climb to more than 6000 feet, almost to spring snow levels.
